रक्षाबंधन भाई-बहन के बीच प्रेम और सुरक्षा के बंधन के रूप में जाना जाता है, लेकिन यह केवल रक्त संबंधों तक ही सीमित नहीं है। यह त्यौहार उस पवित्र भावना का प्रतीक है जिसमें एक स्त्री पुरुष से अपनी रक्षा करने का संकल्प लेती है, चाहे वह उसका सगा भाई हो या आध्यात्मिक रूप से उससे जुड़ा कोई व्यक्ति।
संत कबीर, जिनका जीवन भक्ति, ज्ञान और सद्भाव की मिसाल है, से जुड़ी रक्षाबंधन की एक लोकप्रिय कहानी आज भी दिलों को छू जाती है।
संत कबीर का जन्म 15वीं शताब्दी में हुआ था। वे एक प्रसिद्ध संत, कवि और समाज सुधारक थे। उनके शब्द आज भी 'कबीर के दोहे' के रूप में प्रसिद्ध हैं। कबीर का जीवन साधना, सेवा और सादगी की मिसाल था।
संत कबीर के पारिवारिक जीवन के बारे में वैसे तो कई मान्यताएँ हैं, लेकिन रक्षाबंधन से जुड़ी यह कहानी मुख्य रूप से उनके और उनकी एक आध्यात्मिक बहन के बीच के भावनात्मक रिश्ते को दर्शाती है।
कहते हैं कि संत कबीर की एक बहन थी, जो हर साल श्रावण पूर्णिमा (रक्षाबंधन) के दिन उन्हें राखी बाँधने आती थी। वह कबीर को अपना सगा भाई नहीं मानती थी, लेकिन उनसे इतना प्रेम करती थी कि इसे आध्यात्मिक रिश्ता कहा जा सकता है।
एक बार ऐसा हुआ कि रक्षाबंधन से एक दिन पहले, वह बहन कबीर से मिलने वाराणसी आई। उस समय कबीर ध्यान में लीन थे।
बहन ने उनसे राखी बाँधने का अनुरोध किया।
कबीर मुस्कुराते हुए बोले:
"रक्षा का बंधन हृदय से होता है बहन, इस धागे से नहीं। लेकिन अगर तुम्हारे मन को शांति मिले, तो मुझे खुशी होगी।"
कहते हैं कि बहन ने श्रद्धापूर्वक राखी बाँधी और कबीर ने उसे आशीर्वाद दिया:
"तुम्हारे जीवन में कोई भय या अभाव न रहे। तुम्हारा यह प्रेम सदैव बना रहे।"
यह घटना सुनकर शिष्य भावुक हो गए और पूछा:
"गुरुदेव, क्या हर राखी ऐसा आध्यात्मिक बंधन हो सकती है?"
कबीर ने कहा:
"जहाँ आत्मा का संबंध होता है, वहाँ न कोई जाति होती है, न कोई धर्म, न कोई रक्त संबंध। वहाँ केवल प्रेम होता है। वही सच्चा रक्षाबंधन है।"
रक्षाबंधन केवल सगे भाई-बहनों तक सीमित नहीं है, यह प्रेम, भक्ति और विश्वास का प्रतीक है।
आध्यात्मिक बंधन से बढ़कर कोई पवित्र रिश्ता नहीं हो सकता, जो बिना किसी शारीरिक या सामाजिक रिश्ते के भी संभव है।
संत कबीर की यह कहानी हमें बताती है कि संवेदनशीलता, प्रेम और सेवा ही किसी भी रिश्ते की असली नींव हैं।
संत कबीर ने कई दोहों के माध्यम से सामाजिक बंधनों को तोड़ते हुए आत्मा के बंधनों को प्राथमिकता दी। उनके अनुसार:
"जाति न पूछो साधु की, पूछो ज्ञान,
तलवार की कद्र करो, म्यान पड़ा रहने दो।"
रक्षाबंधन का यही संदेश है - प्रेम और रक्षा का एक बंधन जो हृदय से जुड़ा होता है।
"प्रेम न बच्ची उपजै, प्रेम न हट बिकाय।
राजा परजा जेहि रुचै, शीश देइ ले जाय॥''
भावार्थ:
प्रेम किसी खेत में नहीं उगता, न ही बाज़ार में बिकता है। यह तो वही पा सकता है जो इसके लिए अपना सब कुछ, यहां तक कि अपना सिर तक समर्पित कर दे।
भाई-बहन का सच्चा प्यार भी ऐसा ही त्यागपूर्ण होता है।
"जहाँ प्रेम तहाँ राम है, जहाँ राम तहाँ प्रेम।"
कबिरा यहु मत पता, खोटे ताहि न क्षेम॥"
भावार्थ:
जहां प्रेम होता है, वहीं ईश्वर का वास होता है। यदि कोई प्रेम विफल हो जाता है, तो उसे जीवन में सुख-शांति नहीं मिलती।
भाई-बहन के रिश्ते में प्रेम ईश्वर तुल्यकालिक होता है।
“पोथी पढ़ि पढ़ि जग मुआ, पंडित भया न कोय।
ज़ोरदार आखर प्रेम का, पढ़ें सो पंडित होय॥"
भावार्थ:
सच्चा ज्ञान प्रेम में है। ज़ोरदार अक्षर का ये प्यार, भाई-बहन के अंदाज़ में पूरी तरह से छाया हुआ है।
"साईं इतना सम्मान, जामे कुटुम समाय।"
मैं भी भूखा न रहूँ, साधु न भूखा जाय॥"
भावार्थ:
इतना ही इशारा जिससे मेरा परिवार भी चल सके और आने वाला भी भूखा न जाए।
भाई की बहन के लिए यही भावना है - सबका भला।
"निसदिन बांधै राखिए, द्रोण न यह डोर।
कबीरा बंधन प्रेम का, और न बांधे और॥"
भावार्थ:
जो प्रेम का बंधन है, वह सच्चा है और जीवन भर का बंधन रहता है।
राखी का धागा यह प्रेम के डोर का प्रतीक है।
संत कबीर और उनकी बहन की यह रक्षाबंधन कथा आज के समाज के लिए एक प्रेरणा है।
यह हमें सिखाती है कि रक्षाबंधन सिर्फ़ एक रस्म नहीं, बल्कि आत्मा का बंधन है। जब प्यार सच्चा होता है, तो वह न तो रिश्तों की सीमाओं में बंधा होता है और न ही समय की।

Although there are many beliefs about the family life of Sant Kabir, this story related to Raksha Bandhan mainly reflects the emotional relationship between him and one of his spiritual sisters.
It is said that Saint Kabir had a sister, who used to come to tie a Rakhi to him every year on the day of Shravan Purnima (Rakshabandhan). She did not consider Kabir as her real brother, but loved him so much that it can be called a spiritual relationship.
Once it happened that a day before Rakshabandhan, that sister came to Varanasi to meet Kabir. At that time Kabir was engrossed in meditation.
The sister requested him to tie a Rakhi.
Kabir smiled and said:
"The bond of Raksha is made with the heart sister, not with this thread. But if your mind gets peace, I will be happy."
It is said that the sister tied the Rakhi with devotion and Kabir blessed her:
"May there be no fear or lack in your life. May this love of yours remain forever."
Hearing this incident, the disciple became emotional and asked:
"Gurudev, can every Rakhi be such a spiritual bond?"
Kabir said:
"Where the soul is related, there is no caste, no religion, no blood relation. There is only love. That is the true Rakshabandhan."
Rakshabandhan is not limited to real siblings, it is a symbol of love, devotion and trust.
There can be no more sacred relationship than a spiritual bond, which is possible even without any physical or social relationship.
This story of Saint Kabir tells us that sensitivity, love and service are the real foundation of any relationship.
Saint Kabir gave priority to the bonds of the soul while breaking social bonds through many couplets. According to him:
"Do not ask the caste of a sadhu, ask his knowledge,
Respect the sword, let the sheath lie down."
