जीवन परिचय :-

सुधा मूर्ति का जन्म कन्नड़ भाषी परिवार में 19 अगस्त 1950 को शिगांव , हावेरी जिले के मैसूर राज्य (वर्तमान कर्नाटक ), भारत में हुआ था, वे आरएच कुलकर्णी, एक सर्जन और उनकी पत्नी विमला कुलकर्णी, एक स्कूल शिक्षिका की बेटी थीं। उनका पालन-पोषण उनके माता-पिता और नाना-नानी ने किया। ये बचपन के अनुभव उनकी पहली उल्लेखनीय रचना का ऐतिहासिक आधार बने, जिसका शीर्षक था हाउ आई टॉट माई ग्रैंडमदर टू रीड, वाइज एंड अदरवाइज एंड अदर स्टोरीज । मूर्ति ने बीवीबी कॉलेज ऑफ इंजीनियरिंग एंड टेक्नोलॉजी (जिसे अब केएलई टेक्नोलॉजिकल यूनिवर्सिटी के रूप में जाना जाता है) से इलेक्ट्रिकल और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स इंजीनियरिंग में बीईएनजी पूरा किया , और फिर भारतीय विज्ञान संस्थान से कंप्यूटर विज्ञान में एमईएनजी किया ।

आजीविका :-

सुधा मूर्ति भारत की सबसे बड़ी ऑटो निर्माता कंपनी टाटा इंजीनियरिंग एंड लोकोमोटिव कंपनी (टेल्को) में नियुक्त होने वाली पहली महिला इंजीनियर बनीं । वह पुणे में एक विकास इंजीनियर के रूप में कंपनी में शामिल हुईं और फिर मुंबई और जमशेदपुर में भी काम किया। उन्होंने कंपनी के चेयरमैन को एक पोस्टकार्ड लिखकर टेल्को में "केवल पुरुषों" के लिंग पक्षपात की शिकायत की थी। नतीजतन, उन्हें एक विशेष साक्षात्कार दिया गया और तुरंत काम पर रखा गया। बाद में वह पुणे में वालचंद ग्रुप ऑफ़ इंडस्ट्रीज में सीनियर सिस्टम एनालिस्ट के रूप में शामिल हुईं।

Biography :-

Sudha Murthy is an Indian educator, author, and philanthropist. She is the founder-chairman of the non-profit charitable organization Infosys Foundation. She is married to Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy. In 2024, Murthy was nominated as a Member of Parliament of the Rajya Sabha on 8 March 2024 for her contributions to social work and education. Murthy was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award for social work, by the Government of India in 2006. In 2023, she was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian award.

Sudha Murthy began her professional career with computer science and engineering. She is a member of the Gates Foundation's public health care initiative. She has founded several orphanages, participated in rural development efforts, supported the movement to provide computers and library facilities to all government schools in Karnataka, and founded the Murthy Classical Library of India at Harvard University.

Murthy is known for her philanthropy and her contributions to literature in Kannada and English. Early life and education :-

Sudha Murthy was born in a Kannada-speaking family on 19 August 1950 in Shiggaon, Haveri district of Mysore State (present-day Karnataka), India, the daughter of R.H. Kulkarni, a surgeon, and his wife Vimala Kulkarni, a school teacher. She was raised by her parents and maternal grandparents. These childhood experiences became the historical basis of her first notable work, titled How I Taught My Grandmother to Read, Wise and Otherwise and Other Stories. Murthy completed her BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BVB College of Engineering and Technology (now known as KLE Technological University), and then her MEng in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science.
