2002 के वीडियो एल्बम "कांता लागा" में एक थोंग दिखाने के लिए शेफाली प्रसिद्ध हुई। वह "कांता लैगा गर्ल" और "थोंग लड़की" के रूप में जाने जानी लगी। "कांता लागा" के बाद उन्होंने लगभग 10-15 संगीत एलबम किए। 2004 में फिल्म 'मुझसे शादी करोगी' में सलमान खान और अक्षय कुमार के साथ उन्हें एक कैमियो उपस्थिति में देखा गया था। 2009 में, वह अपने गायक पति हरमीत गुलजार के साथ सार्वजनिक तलाक के विवाद में दिखाई दी थीं। 2012 में, वह अपने प्रेमी के साथ रियलिटी शो नच बलिए 5 में देखी गई थी।
